Thank you Hillcrest in Stillwater for hosting our first Board Meeting since last September. Each of our four ministry teams had quality presentations. It was reported that the Association experienced a significant drop in giving during 2020. Of course, this can be attributed to COVID, but we may be looking at some big adjustments in the 2021-22 budget which begins this July.
The church health/Revitalization team is moving forward with written expectations for churches going through the CBA Revitalization process. Special thanks to team leader, Ryan Smith. The positive success of FBC, Drumright should be a huge encouragement to other churches who might be considering this ministry.
Our next meeting is being hosted by our CBA Moderator, DJ Carney at his church, FBC, Bristow. Write this date down – Monday, March 29. Team Meetings at 9:00, Brunch at 10:00 followed by the Board Meeting.
Because of COVID we have not been able to gather together for our monthly prayer gatherings. But, let’s plan on meeting with one another on Wednesday, April 7, 2021, at Pastor Toby Tiner’s church, Mehan Union.
It may be a first for our Association and if not, it will be the first in a long time. The Cimarron Evangelism Conference will be on Saturday morning, May 1 at Lakeside in Mannford and on Sunday Evening, May 2 at FBC, Stillwater.
It will be basically the same event at two different locations on two different days. Each church is encouraged to bring a group or at least send some representatives to the location that is best for your church.
Each event will have a main speaker with a brief time of worship. There will also be several breakout groups, along with a time for snacks and fellowship. Place these two dates on your calendar, even if you are not sure your church can attend.
In an effort to stay pastor-connected, Oklahoma Baptists are creating an exclusive Pastor Text Line, which will feature regular text messages from Hance Dilbeck.
Please text Pastor to 833-942-3800 today to sign up for this free communications piece, as “we encourage one another to advance the Gospel.”
Be sure to download the consent form that each child needs to have filled out by their parents. This is very important that we have this on file for each child attending Camp Lela this year.
Churches will need to provide 1 sponsor for every 7 campers registered. Cost is $75 per camper. Checks should be made payable to the church that your child is registered with. Checks will be cashed upon receipt. If for some reason a registered camper cannot attend, the Associational Office needs to be notified at least one week BEFORE the beginning of camp for the registration fee to be refunded. Camp is for children who will be in grades 4-7 next year (not older than 13 years old). All blanks must be filled in for the camper to be properly registered. A parent’s signature needs to be on this form along with phone numbers to reach you at all times. Your child’s registration fee should be sent with this form. No pre-registrations can be transferred to another person.
Registration is open at www.okbu.edu/genwhy. Cost is $60 total for a group of 6-14 people, or $70 total for groups of more than 15 attendees. Visit the Generation Why page to register, view schedule and get more information.
