Update on the Disaster Relief Barn

ALMOST $20,000

The new trailer barn fund is almost 1/3 of the way toward our goal of $60,000. With the children’s VBS gift of $650.75 from Fellowship Baptist In Yale and a special gift of $3000 from University Heights Missions Committee, the total is now $19,510.

Ice Storm in October?

One of Oklahoma’s worst ice storms came through one day after the CBA Annual Meeting. Following three and a half days of rain, the Cimarron Chainsaw Crew set out for ministry. Even during the rain, D.R. men were out assessing damage and making preparation for the chainsaw crews to be on mission.

CBA Disaster Ministry is “On The Road Again”

Following a short stint in Iowa, our laundry trailer has been parked at FBC Moss Bluff, Louisiana. It will be in the Southeast United States for several weeks. Brent and Barbara Headrick are taking the aerial lift, a flood recovery trailer and leading a team there also. Additionally, there is the possibility of a chainsaw crew being called out. If you are interested in going or giving so others can go, call Scott Morie at the CBA office.

THIS IS EXCITING – there is a possibility that our proposed new DR trailer barn will soon be fully funded! Attend the CBA Annual Meeting for more information!

Thank the Lord for our Disaster Relief Ministry

Following a major storm in Iowa, our Cimarron Laundry Trailer served for two weeks in Cedar Rapids.
Now it is being deployed to Lake Charles following the damage done by Hurricane Laura.

If you could help man the laundry trailer for one week, contact Myron Long 580-574-8762.

It’s about a ten hour drive to Lake Charles, Louisiana where the trailer will be stationed.
We also hope to send out a chain saw crew in a few weeks.

Disaster Relief

There have been several small projects consisting of a day or half a day where our volunteers have assisted. However, following a major storm three weeks ago, Cimarron had two teams of volunteers out for two weeks. There were several down trees in the Salina and Pryor area that needed to be cut down and removed. Special thanks to FBC, Salina for taking care of our volunteers with food and sleeping arrangements.

DR LAUNDRY TRAILER IS ON THE MOVE

Though there have not been any calls for our Disaster Relief Teams to assist following a tornado, flood or fire, the CBA Laundry Trailer has been called out twice. The first time was to Binger, OK where there was a Coronavirus Breakout in a local nursing home. The trailer was on site there for five weeks providing laundry for both residents and staff.

The second mission was to the Army National Guard Building in Sand Springs. There was a reserve unit stationed there for more than a week-end, and in need of laundry help. They called us and we were happy to assist. Thanks to Myron Long, Randy Collum and Ted Wilson for delivering the trailer and returning it home.
