Wholly Healthy

Wholly Healthy is an association-wide initiative aimed at challenging people to become healthier: spiritually, physically, and financially. Our Director of Missions, Scott Morie, is calling on all pastors and church staff members to take part in this challenge. With the beginning of the new year 2019, Scott is proposing a five step pledge called the “Five Alive Challenge” for ministers that will encourage them to eat better, lose weight, and get fit.

There will be a need for sponsors who are able to help fund resources and prizes. Prayer partners and encouragers from the local churches will also be needed during this year-long program to help our pastors and staff members!

Expect more information about Wholly Healthy in the coming weeks. We will soon be starting a Facebook group for those pastors and staff members who will be participating to share goals and successes, and to encourage each other as we seek to eat better, lose weight, and get fit!

The Five Alive Challenge!

Recent studies find that obesity and other health issues are “epidemic” in the clergy. A 2018 article in Facts and Trends was titled, “Too Many Pastors are Digging Their Graves with Their Teeth.”

This is one reason why Cimarron Baptist Association is encouraging all of our pastors and staff members to take the “Five Alive” challenge, which is at the core of our Wholly Healthy Campaign! Here are the five challenges:

1. Commit to walking _________ steps every day!
2. Drink eight glasses of water daily!
3. Give up one unhealthy food or drink!
4. Memorize one health motivational verse a week!
5. Have an accountability partner!
