Two ministries that are expanding are Disaster Relief and Camp Lela. The DR Ministry has been blessed recently with two new trailers, one of which is the only Disaster Relief Laundry trailer in the state and the other is a fairly new Flood Recovery Trailer. Because of those gifts along with our Block Party Trailer, we need an additional and larger trailer barn. We have an estimated cost of $60,000 for the new barn and the first gift of $6,000 has been given. We will not use DR funds for this new barn, but we are praying for individuals who have a heart for Disaster Relief. Camp Lela is in desperate need for a new modern, year-round cabin. The Cimarron Association has unanimously approved to begin the process to build it. We have a beautiful concept drawing of the new cabin and an estimated cost of $500,000. The great news is $50,000 has already been given. The CBA Executive Board unanimously approved a recommendation to begin the process of building a new dorm at Camp Lela. In addition to that decision, a $50,000 pledge toward the cabin was also announced.
To help celebrate Camp Lela’s 60th birthday, the Cimarron Association is having their August meeting at Camp. Join us for an all CBA hamburger cookout and birthday party on Monday, August 26 at Camp Lela. Team Meetings are from 5:00-6:00 pm with dinner beginning at 6:00 pm.
We will have a time of worship including testimonies about Camp Lela followed by our Executive Board Meeting. Some of the reports will be from the Camp Lela Development Team and the CBA Constitution Revision Committee. Everyone is invited, especially Bi-Vo pastors and ministry wives.
What an honor it was to be the Mission speaker for the children at Camp Lela; however I was very grateful to have the First Lady of Disaster Relief, Deborah Wilson there to help me a whole lot !
