Ice Storm in October?

One of Oklahoma’s worst ice storms came through one day after the CBA Annual Meeting. Following three and a half days of rain, the Cimarron Chainsaw Crew set out for ministry. Even during the rain, D.R. men were out assessing damage and making preparation for the chainsaw crews to be on mission.

Calgary Canada Connection Update

The interest from our churches in connecting with mission churches in Calgary has been exceedingly positive. Last April we had 12 individuals from 11 different churches committed to go on a vision trip, plus others who wanted to go, but could not at that time. Unfortunately the vision trip in April had to be cancelled, along with a summer mission trip because of COVID.

We tentatively have been discussing a vision trip this November, but again, that may not be possible. Therefore, be praying and planning for a rescheduled vision trip to Calgary in the spring.

What is a Cimarron Baptist “Missionary Family”?

A missionary is someone who senses a call from God and is sent by their church to a specific place. They may have different tasks, but their primary mission is the Great Commission, to win people to Jesus and disciple Christians.

FBC, Drumright is praying for a few missionary couples or families from CBA sister churches to come over and help. We are not asking them to be permanent, but if they could serve 12-18 months and then return to their home church. With the help of a few missionary families, FBC Drumright could become healthy again and begin to grow on their own. For more information you can call Pastor Monty McGee at 918-833-0979 or Scott Morie – 918-695-6644.

CBA Disaster Ministry is “On The Road Again”

Following a short stint in Iowa, our laundry trailer has been parked at FBC Moss Bluff, Louisiana. It will be in the Southeast United States for several weeks. Brent and Barbara Headrick are taking the aerial lift, a flood recovery trailer and leading a team there also. Additionally, there is the possibility of a chainsaw crew being called out. If you are interested in going or giving so others can go, call Scott Morie at the CBA office.

THIS IS EXCITING – there is a possibility that our proposed new DR trailer barn will soon be fully funded! Attend the CBA Annual Meeting for more information!

NEW TEAM MEMBERS NEEDED

Every year the four ministry teams of the Cimarron Association rotate members. One member rotates off and one new member rotates on. If you are interested in serving or would like to recommend someone, call, text or email Scott Morie.

Why We Ask Churches to Complete the ACP

  1. Family – You are an important part of the Southern Baptist family! This small task benefits our entire denomination and her mission of reaching the world with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
  2. History – Historical statistics about your congregation are maintained for you if/when needed.
  3. Resources – SBC agencies use ACP information to allocate funding and other resources to benefit Oklahoma Baptists churches .
  4. Communication – Information provided through the ACP survey enables your association and Oklahoma Baptists to better communicate with and serve the needs of your congregation.
We know it takes time and effort to complete the ACP and hope this helps explain why it is so important for your church to be represented. If you have any questions, please call Sharon Helm at 918-225-2300. If you cannot complete your survey online, please complete it and send it to the office. We will be happy to input the information.
